About this plugin

QR Code

Generate QR codes from text and websites, and recognize local QR images.

Generate QR codes

Choose Website or Text on the Generate page and enter your content to create a QR code automatically. Customize the foreground and background colors, add or remove a logo, or restore the classic palette. Copy the generated QR code as an image or save it as a PNG. Clear removes the content and logo.

Recognize QR codes

Switch to Recognize and click the image area to select a QR image, or paste a QR image from your clipboard into the plugin. Recognition starts automatically and the result appears on the right. Copy the decoded text or, for a valid website address, choose Open website. Recognition never opens links automatically.

Getting started

  1. After installation, search for QR Code in Quick and open the plugin.
  2. To generate: enter a website address or text, adjust the colors or logo, then choose Copy image or Save PNG.
  3. To recognize: choose or paste a PNG, JPEG or WebP QR image, then view the result and copy it or open the website as needed.
  4. On the recognition page, click the image to choose another one, or use Clear below it to remove the current image and result.

Local processing and the Quick experience

QR generation and image recognition run locally without uploading images. Use the inline quick window or a detached window, with Quick's language, accent color and light or dark appearance. Ten interface languages are included. The Generate page saves your text, content type and colors as a draft; logos must be selected again.

Use a clear, complete QR image and keep sufficient contrast between its foreground and background. After adding a logo or custom colors, test the result with your intended scanner. Screenshots use only test text and a public website address, with no personal information.
